CPNA Minutes for July 23, 2024

I.     Call to order by Jason at 6:31 pm

II.    Updates & Consent Agenda

a.    Minutes -.Will stand approved as submitted.

b.    Treasurer’s report - 306.38 is the balance at the bank. Community foundation account has 564.20. The total is 870.58. We received a statement that our account is dormant. We are collecting change to deposit.

c.    President’s report -. Not much to report. We have been gone most of the month. NNO is two weeks from today 5 to 8 pm at John’s Hill Park. We usually end Trash collection in Sept. However, we have not had any pickups with any of the local churches. So the deal is that if you see trash, pick it up. We need to schedule Robert Weil to come and meet with us about the lead pipes conversion. The city is supposed to help pay a portion of the cost at the moment. This is mandated by the Federal, and the city hopes to get rid of all old lead lines between 2030 and 2035. However, this is an unfunded Federal mandate, so any money to help with cost of converting the pipes will be coming from the City. The City is going to use some of the pandemic recovery money that was set aside. We are going to try to have him in Sept and Officer Toole will be in Oct.

III.  Unfinished Business

c.    Nothing about the Jasper Street Fest

d.    We want to know more info about how the raised garden bed went. Dixie has one and she said that it is working.

V.       New Business

A.   Leann has CONO flyers. She passed them around.

B.   There are only two more volunteer clean-up dates.

C.   Aug 10th at John’s Hill - World Service Enterprise - Back to school event

D.   Dove Financial Assistance - there is only Molly now… The other lady took on another position with Dove.

E.   National Night Out Aug 6th

F.   City of Decatur Emergency Program.

G.  Northeast is celebrating 55 years and having a party on July 24 from 2 to 5.
